New How to Re-use guides published

The London Re-use Network has long believed that partnerships are the key to success in establishing greater levels of re-use and helping to reap financial, social and environmental benefits.

Now, Wrap has commissioned a series of seven ‘How to re-use’ step-by-step guides aimed at encouraging more partnerships between local authorities, waste management companies and third sector organisations.

The seven guides cover how to:

  • make re-use a strategic priority
  • establish a re-use baseline for your area
  • set up and run a re-use forum
  • produce a re-use action plan
  • write a communications plan to boost re-use
  • provide for re-use on HWRCs
  • provide a re-use focused bulky waste collection service

Two of the ‘How to re-use’ guides have been penned by London Re-use Network staff. Richard Featherstone, Development Manager, wrote ‘How to provide a re-use focused bulky waste collection service’, while Deirdre Maguire, Communications Manager was responsible for ‘How to write a communications plan to boost re-use’.

The guides can be downloaded from the Wrap website here.

If you are interested in setting up, or looking to develop an existing re-use scheme, please do get in touch. We are always keen to discuss and collaborate on new ideas, and from time to time are able to offer more formalised consultancy.
