London Re-use Network member the Forest Recycling Project (FRP) is in the running for £50,000 of lottery funding – and need your vote to help them win! Colour the Capital

FRP’s Colour The Capital project will feature on ITV’s People’s Millions during the evening news between 6:00pm – 6:30pm on Tuesday 25th November.

FRP will use the funding to create nine murals in three East London boroughs (Hackney, Tower Hamlets and Waltham Forest) in partnership with Global Street Art. FRP will also be donating 6,000 litres of paint to community groups in the local area.

Vote for Colour The Capital to:

• Save 15 tonnes of CO2
• Brighten up nine run-down community spaces with eye-catching street art
• Involve over 100 young people from deprived areas of London in street art workshops
• Save community groups £36,000
• Save 7,000 litres of paint from going to landfill

How to vote: Voting will take place via phone. The number to call will be released on Tuesday 25th November and phone lines will be open between 9:00am and midnight. For a handy voting reminder, email now to receive a prompt on the day.

You can also nominate a community group you would like to receive free paint. The groups with the highest number of nominations will be on top of FRP’s list to benefit if they are awarded the funding.
